Single Person: The "tried and true" way for a single person to use their initials in a monogram are first name initial, LARGER last name initial, and middle initial (in that order). So Laura Helene Martin's monogram would look like this:
LMH
Married Woman (example 1) The correct way for a married woman to use her initials if they are all the SAME SIZE would be to use her first name, maiden name, and married name (in that order). For instance, if her name is Trisha Burda Parrish the monogram would look like:
TBP
Married Woman (example 2) If you are using the traditional monogram style where the CENTER INITIAL IS LARGER, then the initial order should be first name initial, LARGER married last name initial, and maiden name inital. So, the monogram for Kimberly Murphy Hurley would look like this:
KHM
Married Couple: When you want to use a married couple's monogram, you include both the husband and wife's initials. The correct order is to use the woman's first name inital, LARGER married last name initial, then the man's first name initial. Note: the woman's initial always goes first. For the monogram of Helen and Ed Carter it would look like:
HCE
Male's Initials (example1): The correct way for a man to use his initials if they are all the SAME SIZE would be to use his first name, middle name, and last name (in that order). For instance, if his name is Chandler Chase Tomlinson the monogram would look like:

Male's Initials (example2): If you are using the monogram style where the CENTER INITIAL IS LARGER, then the initial order should be first name initial, LARGER last name initial, and middle name inital. So, the monogram for Austin David Hall would look like this:
